- Drop the infill on chunky FDM parts.20% is plenty for most fixtures.
- Lighten SLS parts with generative design or lattices.SLS is priced on the part's wrapped shape, so a lean, open design costs less than a solid block.

03File preparation
Prepare your STL or STEP file for an accurate quote
Upload a closed mesh, in millimetres, with walls above the minimum for your process, and the instant price is the price you pay.

STEP for engineering parts, STL, OBJ or 3MF for the rest
STEP keeps the exact CAD geometry, so holes stay round. STL, OBJ and 3MF are meshes: export fine enough that curves don't show facets. OBJ suits scans and artwork. No file? Our CAD design service can model it from a sketch, photo or worn original.

Check the units before you order
STL files carry no units. A part drawn in inches and read as millimetres comes in 25.4 times too small, with a price to match. Check the size the quote tool shows against your drawing, and switch the units if it's wrong.

Close the mesh
Small mesh errors are repaired on upload. If a model still has holes or loose surfaces, the tool can't trust its volume, so we price the part by hand instead.

How much does a 3D printed part cost?
A small FDM part in PLA costs about $3. A hand-sized SLA or SLS part costs $20 to $55, and a large FDM enclosure base about $37. In SLS, 300 parts cost 61% to 82% less each than a single part. Is there a minimum order?
Yes. Orders with less than $40 in parts are topped up to $40, or to $70 if the order includes an SLS part. Putting several parts in one order is the easiest way to get full value from the minimum.
Q03
Do quoted prices include tax and shipping?
No. Prices are in Canadian dollars before tax. Standard tracked shipping in Canada is $25 for parcels up to 5 kg and $35 above that. Express shipping starts at $45, and pickup in Victoria is free.

What file types do you accept?
STL, STEP, OBJ and 3MF. STEP is best for engineering parts because it keeps the exact CAD geometry. If you have another format, upload what you can and we'll get in touch if it needs converting.
Q05
How accurate are the instant quotes?
For 99% of parts the quoted price is final. It's calculated from your file's geometry, the material and the quantity. If a part is unusual, we check it and confirm the price before printing.
Q06
Can I upload multiple files at once?
Yes. Add every part to one order. For an assembly with different materials or quantities, put the details in the project notes and we'll sort it out.
Q07
How long does shipping take?
Most orders print in 2–4 business days, depending on the process, material and quantity. Tracked courier delivery in Canada takes another 2–5 business days. Victoria customers can pick up as soon as the order is ready.

Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes. The quote tool shows price breaks as you change the quantity. For 500+ parts or repeat orders, contact us for bulk pricing.

My last print from them was a custom flashlight holster for my personal Nitecore EDC25 flashlight.
