Island Health manages more than 1,000 Vocera medical pagers. Small plastic clips on each battery pack broke frequently, and replacing whole battery units cost taxpayers over $10,000 per year while sending otherwise functional hardware to landfill.
We collaborated with Island Health to redesign a stronger clip, ran pilot prototypes for staff testing, then scaled to a full production run.
Custom clips are in use across a long-term-care site, extending battery life and eliminating a five-figure annual expense. Island Health reduced e-waste and kept critical communication devices in service.
Real work for BC health organizations and emergency services.
