Medical & Dental 3D Printing Questions

What files do you need?

An STL (or other mesh) is ideal. Include your application, intended use (e.g. surgical guide vs. display model), and any material or certification requirements. We can also help with CAD from scans—see our CAD services.

Should I use SLA or SLS for my part?

SLA is best for fine detail, smooth surfaces, and dental or surgical models. SLS is better for tough, functional nylon parts—brackets, enclosures, orthotic prototypes, and geometries that need internal cavities without supports.

Can you print biocompatible parts?

Yes, on request—we can produce parts in biocompatible Formlabs resins and USP Class VI–compatible SLS nylon. You must confirm the material meets your regulatory pathway.

How fast can you ship across Canada?

Most SLA orders ship in 1–4 business days; SLS typically takes 2–4 days. Shipping takes 1–5 business days. We offer tracked shipping nationwide and local pickup in Victoria, BC. Rush may be available—ask when you quote.

Regulatory notice: Morin 3D is a contract print service, not a medical device manufacturer. You are responsible for design validation, intended use, and regulatory clearance. Material certifications apply to specific resins and powders from their manufacturers—not to our facility. We are not ISO 13485 or FDA registered. Discuss documentation needs before ordering patient-contact parts.
