Once it’s scanned, our CAD team can scale it, thicken weak spots, add mounting holes or blend it into a new design. You approve it before anything is made.

Accurate CAD of what you’re working on
We bring handheld 3D laser scanners to your shop, marina or plant floor and capture the whole boat, vehicle or piece of industrial equipment. You get the point cloud and mesh as standard, and a full CAD reconstruction your fabricator, machinist or engineer can design against if you need one.

Make it fit the first time
We scan the area your new part attaches to, so brackets, covers, consoles and panels are designed to the real shape, not a tape-measure guess. Then we can print it for you.

Measuring a hull, engine bay or machine by hand takes days and still misses the curves. We scan it where it sits and deliver the point cloud and mesh, plus a full CAD reconstruction your fabricator, machinist or engineer can design against if you need one.
Common questions
Do I need drawings or measurements?
No. We scan the object itself, so a broken, worn or one-off piece is all we need. If it’s in pieces, bring them all and we’ll rebuild it on screen.
How accurate is a 3D scan?
Between ±0.04 mm and ±10 mm, depending on the size of the object.
Will scanning damage my original?
No. Scanning doesn’t touch the surface. Shiny, black or clear objects sometimes need a light scanning spray, which comes off without a trace.
What files will I get?
Every scan comes with the point cloud and an STL or OBJ mesh, ready to 3D print, render or measure. If you need to edit or manufacture from it, we can do a full CAD reconstruction in STEP, IGES or native formats, with PDF or DXF drawings. The files are yours to keep.
How big can you scan?
Anything from a coin to a boat hull. Boats, machinery and installed features are scanned on-site in Victoria, across Vancouver Island and in Vancouver.
What does it cost?
Every job is different, so we quote each one up front. Send a few photos and we’ll price it. As a guide, a simple part without intricate geometry starts at around $150.
