2. 3D Scanning

Drop the part at our Victoria shop, or we will travel to you on-site. Using portable laser or structured light scanners, scanning takes from 30 minutes to a few hours.

3. Data Refinement & CAD

We process and clean up the raw scan point cloud. If needed, our team converts the mesh to a fully parametric CAD model to fix damage or optimize the design.

Common Questions

I have an old part with no drawings. Can you still help?

That's exactly what we specialize in. We scan the physical object directly—no drawings, CAD files, or documentation needed. We capture the geometry and create new files from scratch.

Can you scan something and then 3D print copies of it?

Yes—this is one of our most common workflows. We scan the object, clean up the digital file, and then produce as many copies as you need via 3D printing. Our CAD team can also modify the design before printing.

My object is too large/fragile to bring in. Can you come to me?

Absolutely. We offer on-site scanning across Victoria, Vancouver Island, and Vancouver. Whether it's a vehicle, machinery, or an installed architectural element, we bring the equipment to you.

How accurate are the scans?

Our professional scanners achieve accuracy from ±0.04mm to ±0.3mm depending on the object's size and requirements, ensuring precise measurements for reverse engineering or replication.

Can you scan shiny, black, or transparent surfaces?

Yes. We handle tricky reflective, dark, or transparent surfaces using specialized scanning sprays or matting techniques. They're non-destructive and fully removable—we won't damage your original.
